Many of us dream of being able to build our own house. But many of us also struggle with putting together that piece of IKEA furniture that only has about 10 or so steps.

The thought is nice but what if you actually turned that dream into reality? When you think about it, building a house, or even renovating one, comes with a strong sense of self. It is the ultimate pride project. Who wouldn’t want to be able to walk someone through the house they built?

In recent years, the real estate market has seen a boom in people wanting to buy houses and flip them. No thanks to TV networks such as HGTV with shows like Fixer Upper and Property Brothers, people seemed to have been bitten by the craftsman bug.

It’s a lot more work than it seems. But if you’re willing to put in the hard work and have the cash to do so, shoot for the stars! You just might land on the moon!

There are several different ways to get your start into the real estate business and many are discovering social media and video-sharing platforms to be quite informative. Take YouTube for example.

There are countless videos that show the flipping of houses starting from the purchase all the way to the finished product. But it’s what happens in between that time that makes all the difference.

One YouTuber, who goes by the name of Homemade Home, shows viewers the process of renovating a home. And boy is it a ton of work. The young man who runs the channel and stars in the video never reveals his name but isn’t short on revealing the several houses he’s bought and renovated.

But there is one house in particular that he spent much time renovating and showing viewers his process that has caught the attention of many. In fact, he has over 50 videos for the one house alone!

He reveals that he spent just under $12,000 to purchase the home (including closing costs) and films the two years it took him to renovate it. Now, this is a pretty big project.

He tears off the roof, paints the interior and exterior, builds a porch, lays cement, and installs cabinets, sinks, and the toilet, amongst all of the other appliances.

If that weren’t enough, he also installs the water heater, the plumbing, the electric service panel, and all of the wiring. Did I mention that he cuts, sands, and even paints his own wood?

Really, it’s extremely impressive, to say the least.

Is there anything this young man can’t do?

He works through the weather changes and late into the night.

At times, he has an extra set of hands to help out but it’s safe to say that he does much of the renovating himself.
