A four-year-old boy named Landon received the surprise of a lifetime recently when he got to meet his new baby sister for the first time. His mom had just given birth and captured the moment on camera when she brought the baby girl back from the hospital to introduce her to everyone.

Landon’s reaction was so heartwarming to watch and if you are a parent, you definitely have to check it out.

You won’t be able to hold back your tears.

“I don’t have a belly now, so let’s see if Landon notices,” the mom says at the start of the video.

Landon had been waiting for the day to arrive for months and was incredibly excited about it.

When his mom walked into the room after coming back from the hospital, he already knew something was up. He immediately began asking his mom if the baby had come yet as if he wasn’t sure.

He obviously didn’t notice that her belly wasn’t big like it had been the day before.

“Do I still have her in my tummy?” the mom asked the boy.

She had him feel her stomach, and Landon concluded that no, the baby was not still in her tummy. Therefore, he must officially be a big brother now!

The dad then brought Landon’s new baby sister Mary into the room and the boy’s eyes lit up.

He was beaming with love.

He gently grabbed her hand and gave her a little smooch on the cheek to say hello for the first time.

What came next was even more beautiful though. Landon actually got to hold his little sister.

He sat down on the couch and his mom carefully placed Mary into his arms.

A giant smile came across Landon’s face.

“Do you love her? Isn’t she so cute? Are you happy that she’s finally here?” the mom asked him.

Landon was in total agreement with his mom’s questions.

It was the cutest baby he had ever seen.

“I love you,” Landon exclaimed to his sister.

There can be plenty of challenges involved in introducing a newborn to your older children. According to the Mayo Clinic, one good way to prepare a child between the ages of two and four for the changes that will inevitably take place is to involve them in taking care of the baby. It makes them feel like they are a caregiver too.

This family definitely followed that advice, it seems. Landon was recruited to assist every step of the way.

Next, he helped to get the baby’s rocker ready.

He laid a blanket in it for her. They then put Mary in it and rocked her back and forth. She had a few tears streaming down her face, as babies often do.

“It’s just a swing. Don’t cry!” said Landon.

What a caring big brother!

His parents then explained to him some of his newfound responsibilities.

Landon was shocked that the baby didn’t know how to talk, so they told him he was going to have to help teach her. In addition, they explained that he could teach her all sorts of other things too, such as how to brush her teeth. Although, he would have to wait for her teeth to come in.

The video finished with Landon assisting Mary with her bottle of milk.

He held it for her as she drank and cuddled her in a blanket. It was a beautiful display of sibling love.
