This is Sam. Sam never got the chance to see his younger brother Jack working as a royal guardsman.

So having the opportunity to finally visit Windsor castle was like a dream come true for this young man.

This touching scene took place on an episode of The Specials, A UK based reality show for people with disabilities.

You see, Sam has Down syndrome and he lives with a group of friends in this award-winning series.

Sam flashing a charming smile at Windsor castle.

Sam’s brother Jack had joined the British army a year before. This was a trip that was going to mean the world to both men. As Sam makes his way through the grounds, he is escorted by 2 Coldstream guards who give him a little briefing of what is about to happen.

Lt. Bragger fills him in:

“When you speak to your brother… He won’t be able to speak back to you, and he’ll stand very, very still. When he finishes his work for the day you can have a chat with him and a cup of tea.”

Right, Sam, so here’s the briefing for your mission…

Sam even asks about battles and the Coldstream guards chuckle and as they chat with him. Sam must have dreamt of wearing the uniform and fighting for her majesty!

Sam’s got stories to tell when he gets back.

The guards lead Sam through the castle grounds where many historic and cool moments have taken place and right through to his brother.

Jack in his proper uniform including a tall bearskin hat looks right for the job. He is tall and well built. Lt. Bragger even confirms that he is indeed Jack, his younger brother.

Sam’s face lights up with pride and joy at seeing his younger brother in service to Queen and country.

Rules are rules and proper decorum had to be observed.

It must have taken Sam every ounce of self discipline not to run and hug his brother. He goes to stand beside Jack for a photo as instructed by Lt. Bragger. Doing it for the likes!

You can see Sam trying to contain himself as he stands next to his cool looking brother as he has their picture taken.

Is that really you, bro? Can you breathe?

Trying his best to keep a straight face and even standing like a guard, he poses as strong and proud of his brother and country as he’s ever been.

That very serious nature royal guards are known for have intimidated countless of people. But messing with your sibling is always fun too! Jack gives a massive stomp of his boot and grabs his rifle making Sam jump and run off.

Brothers will be brothers.

Had to do the old startle your sibling prank even in uniform.

Lt. Bragger tells Sam that Jack was only doing his job. But we know better!

There is obvious delight on Sam’s face and he looks back at Jack seemingly impatient with the time as he waits for his brother to get off. That cup of tea might be getting cold after all.

It must have been difficult for Jack to stay still too.

Sam is finally led to where the guards live and he can’t stop smiling in excitement. And right there is his little brother waiting for him.

“I miss you!”

Sam finally runs and jumps into his brother’s arms in a powerful embrace and they share a moment only brothers will truly understand.
