We all have a dream house in mind.
We think of the perfect and most comfortable place to stay and call home. While we also know that a home is not defined by the way it looks, we can’t deny that the physical aspect of our homes adds a lot to the comfort and happiness we feel while we are in it.
The good news is that you don’t really need to start from scratch when it comes to realizing the home of your dreams. Some people find old houses and transform them into the house that they are wishing for. Just like one guy who decided that a certain cinder block home is what he needs to make his dreams come true.
He spent $12,000 dollars and bought a rundown cinder-block house, intent on changing it into a more suitable version for him and his family.
The amazing part of it all? He’s done all the renovations himself! This incredible guy goes by the name “The Homestead Craftsman” on Instagram and he’s one talented craftsman indeed!
Others saw the house like an old, decrepit building, but this guy saw the beauty it has and the beauty it will be. He got to work and little by little, he made changes to the house in a span of two years. You won’t believe the outcome he’s got!
At first, the house was this plain cinder block building topped with an equally plain roof. It was not even painted and to be honest, it did not really look like an appealing place to live in.
There was clearly not much to begin with, and his initial plan to renovate was low-key.
“What I’m gonna do is just do the minimum on this house first. Again, like I said, I’m going to keep it simple,” said the craftsman.
As the renovations began, the house only looked even more basic and hollow. Floorboards were removed one by one and the once empty place started to be filled with sounds of work getting done bit by bit. The project is on and everyone is excited to know how this all will end.
It may have taken two years to complete the project, but we can absolutely say it was all worth the wait.
A huge project as this house will normally need a team of dedicated workers for it to be done in months. Since it’s only one guy working to transform it, it is not surprising that the project will take a couple of years to be fully done.
“To be honest, I’m a little bit depressed, there’s more thing wrong with the house than I realized at first but that’s happened in every house I ever worked on,” the craftsman said on the very first day.
But after two years of hard work and 56 videos documenting his progress, the finished project has now come to reality. The clips showed all the steps taken to transform the house into a beautiful home: from the floorboards getting removed to the installation of plumbing and electricity until it has been painted and polished to perfection.
“It is a wild difference in its exterior appearance, inside as well,” said the craftsman as he moved on from having a project in his hands to having a place to call his home.
The layout is completely different and the interior is amazing. It’s not a huge house, but it is one pretty place to reside in.
The floor is made of vinyl planks and each part of the house is charming in its own way. The kitchen, in particular, maybe small but it is one stunning area. The home is elegant in an understated way. It is simply stunning.
“It’s basically a brand new house except for the center block walls, the roof structure, and the majority of the floors,” the craftsman shared further after making a tour of his home. “I’m extremely happy with the whole thing. I’d be more than pleased to live here myself. I’m very please with the way it turned out I just like how clean it is and I think the fact that it was one business day is how long it took to get this place right it really shows that having a nice place it attracted what I hope to be a perfect runner.”
