Delivery driver can’t get car up strangers steep driveway & finds herself being held ‘captive’ by them
When Chelsea Timmons set out to make a grocery delivery drop off at a stranger's home the last thing she saw coming was finding herself being held “captive” by them.

“They basically have refused to let me leave.”

That’s what Chelsea Timmons told her peeps on social media after she found herself being held “captive” by a couple of strangers (and their friendly doggos) after a food delivery service gone wrong.

But, their actions probably helped save her life. It was, after all, right in the midst of the Texas Storm of 2021!

Last month when Texans were experiencing one of the craziest winter storms of the century, Chelsea was making her last grocery delivery of the day with the Favor app.

She had no idea that she would be sleeping in a stranger’s home for the next five days!

Even though the weather was starting to take a turn for the worst, Chelsea figured she could make some extra money while performing a much-needed service for residents in Austin, Texas.

Yet, as good as her intentions were, the icy roads had their own agenda.

“Goal was to do some runs in the morning, head home around noon. Be Home before the snow hit Sunday night. I intended to sip some wine, and eat some Valentine’s Chocolate and wait out this storm.”

Unfortunately, there was a kink in this plan. Nina Richardson and Doug Condon’s home was located at the bottom of an icy slope, and Chelsea lost control on the way down.

“I just braced myself for impact as the car slide towards their home.”

Thankfully, no real lasting damage was done, save for the flowerbeds and bushes in the front yard that were now goners.

Nina and Richard were thankful that Chelsea was okay, but they were even more worried when she couldn’t get her car back up the steep incline.

That’s when it dawned on Chelsea that she was now stuck with a couple of strangers, and had no escape.

When AAA refused to have her car towed, it became apparent that road conditions were far too treacherous for anyone to be driving on them.

Thankfully, Nina and Richard are about the nicest people you could ever meet. Since the delivery driver had nowhere else to go, the couple didn’t hesitate to invite their new ward to stay in their spare bedroom.

“These people let a complete STRANGER stay the night! Not only that but cooked me a STEAK DINNER! Definitely not how I imagined my Valentine’s Day!”

The next morning, Chelsea was able to get her car to the top of the incline, but the road was still impassable. So what’s a starving, frustrated girl to do?

She made some homemade breakfast for her new family, using the groceries she delivered the night before, of course!

The unusual saga continued into the next few days, and while everyone was waiting out the storm they became fast friends.

“They have not only helped me through the base of the storm, but since I haven’t been able to make it back home they pretty much won’t let me go.”

Nina and Richard were almost like her parents, worrying about her safety and well-being.

“Every time I suggested it they’ve just been like, ‘Well, what will you eat? Can you make it there? Isn’t the guest room better than a Hampton Inn?'”

She had been staying with the couple for so long, the guest bedroom was HER room now.

“Every morning after they say -“no worries, stay a bit longer.” – I go to “my” room and shed tears of joy.”

Oh, and let’s not forget the snugglefest with the puppies! Roomies like these are way better than you can get at the Hampton Inn, right?

As one day soon grew into five, Chelsea resigned herself to getting comfortable with the unusual situation.

“Their home still has water and power so we are clean and warm. They have groceries (I know, I delivered them) so we are fed.”

Chelsea even made sure they were all fed by baking up this delicious coconut cake!

“Blessed that they liked my coconut cake! (I baked them a cake to show my gratitude). God truly #Anchored me during this storm and sent me amazing Guardian Angels.”

In the end, Chelsea felt amazingly blessed to have been in the right place at the right time.

“Blessed that HEB curbside delayed their Saturday delivery and pushed it to Sunday. Blessed that I hit “Accept” before the timer ran out. Blessed they were willing to let the “Delivery Driver” into their home in the midst of a pandemic. Blessed that during the time of a food shortage, they were willing to share their meals.”
In other words – she was “Completely BLESSED all the way around!!”
