The world doesn’t seem to make sense when in the midst of a pandemic, while people are still recovering from their losses, we receive news of a school shooting once again.

Almost ten years after the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, another has taken place once again at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

19 children and two teachers.

That’s the number of people we’ve lost. No parent can ever be ready to pay to have their young children buried under such circumstances.

And a generous donor knew that.

He wanted them to focus on their family and their grief.

“An anonymous donor who attended the meeting and provided $175,000 to ensure that every cost of every family concerning anything about funeral services is going to be taken care of,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced.

This is in addition to the GoFundMe Hub for the victims’ families that have received a collective amount of over $7 million dollars.
In addition to this generous donation announcement, Gov. Abbott also announced that they would be providing mental health services to the victims’ families.
He further said that people who are currently suffering from this unimaginable heartbreak should not and will not have to worry about any type of cost connected to this tragedy.

Governor Abbott meant it.

That’s why he gratefully accepted the generous donor’s offer. And he reassured the donor that he will make sure their generous deed is put in the right hands.

The whole world mourns with Texas.

Along with other celebrities and well-known personalities, who have expressed their shock and disbelief about the situation.

Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey, who is also from Uvalde, Texas, used his Instagram account to speak about the tragedy.
“The true call to action now is for every American to take a longer and deeper look in the mirror, and ask ourselves, ‘What is it that we truly value? How do we repair the problem?’,” Matthew McConaughey wrote on his Instagram post.

Heartfelt words that hope to unify people across the nation in reaching common ground.

People are helping any way they can.

Volunteers from Soulshine Industries in Edna, Texas are working round-the-clock to create custom caskets for each of the victims.

When asked what prompted the gesture, Soulshine Industries owner Trey Ganem said “I want them to be special. I don’t want them to be in a plain box.”

There are still so many questions.

There has been heavy criticism that the response of the police to the situation was inadequate and slow.

An investigation is still ongoing regarding this matter and we can only hope that concrete actions will be made to prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again in the future.
