Unfortunately, the woman had no idea how to change a flat tire, so she tried to log into the Allstate app. However, there was no internet connection where she was, so she started panicking.

Her best bet would be to call Allstate road assistance, but this would definitely take longer. Still, this seemed to be her best bet, since there were no other options available.

The woman, who had suddenly found herself and her family stranded on I-35, just north of Story City, tried to call Allstate but she had no signal.

Well, at that point she really started thinking that she would not make it out of there safely with so many cars passing by and with her sons in the backseat.

This is when a young man came into play. The man appeared in front of them out of nowhere, and offered to change their flat tire.

While the woman had no idea who the young man was, he is actually popular in Iowa. Zach Twedt, a linebacker for the Iowa Hawkeyes, was traveling to Iowa City at the time for the following day’s football practice.

When he saw the woman’s car parked on the side of the road, he knew something was wrong and he felt that stopping by and offering his help was the right thing to do.

Indeed, he asked the woman how he could help her, and he happily changed the flat tire for her. It didn’t take him more than ten minutes.

“This guy wasn’t threatened by somebody like me or by my kids that were in the car,” Gunn told KEYC. “He wanted to help us out of the goodness of his heart.”

The woman couldn’t believe that a stranger would care about her and her family and she was shocked when the young man approached them.

At the same time, Twedt shared that he believes random acts of kindness will make the world a better place.

“In my opinion, it doesn’t matter who you are, what your status is in society, no one is too good to help someone else out,” Twedt said. “So I feel like that will be step number one in making the world a better place.”

Gunn will be forever grateful to Twedt for what he did for them and, as she said, he will always be a brother to her.

She was pleasantly surprised that the young man “didn’t see color” or was not threatened by her and her sons, but he just saw some people in need of help instead.

As Twedt told a local news source, he certainly did not do what he did in search of recognition, but because he believes that a little kindness goes a long way. He also wanted to motivate other people to do similar stuff.
