Because Riccardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagoruychenko’s dance routine at the 2014 Washington DanceSport Competition was SIIICCCCKKKKK.
When it comes to fancy footwork, these two got a whole lot of it.
And some hip work and sex appeal too.
But that’s no surprise. These guys are serious pros. They’re also married so that explains all that chemistry they have.
Cocchi is an Italian dancer who specializes in Latin American dance.
According to Wikipedia, he is a 10 time undefeated Latin Dance Champion alongside Zagoruychenko, his partner.
The pair are ranked #1 in the world for Professional Latin.
Cocchi started dancing when he was just 6-years-old at his parents’ dance studio.
Cocchi and Zagoruychenko recently won their 5th consecutive National Professional Latin Champions title at the US Open Dance Competition.
They dance in shows all over the world and have performed in Dance Legends, New York since 2012.
Cocchi also teaches when he’s not performing.
Zagoruychenko hails from Russia and has been dancing Russian folklore dancing since she was 4, Wikipedia states.
She was teaching other children how to dance to earn money by age 11 and gave that money to her parents.
She won her first major title in Russies at the Russian Junior National Champion at age 12.
She had to choose between studying Ballroom and Latin for financial reason and chose Latin at age 16. She started dancing with Cocchi in 2007.
All that experience really showed off in 2014 at the Washington Open DanceSport Competition.
The Washington Open DanceSport Competition is a three-day competition featuring American and International Ballroom Styles.
THE NDCA sanctioned event is held every spring, the most recent was held May 2 to May 4.
The event hosts both Pro/Am and Amateur events, as well as Open Professional categories and is a key event of the World Pro-Am DanceSport Series, in which competitors can accumulate points towards a Regional and World ranking, and earn further rewards at the end of the series each year.
When Cocchi and Zagoruychenko stepped out onto the stage your jaw could instantly drop as they were both dressed to the nines.
Cocchi dressed in all black with a little sparkle and Zagoruychenko and a purple and pink belly revealing outfit with a whole lot of sparkle.
Zagoruychenko is seriously magnetic. You can’t take your eyes off her style and attitude.
And the precision of the moves these two have is just incredible.
They are perfectly in-sync every step of the way in their Samba routine.
You can tell they work really hard during their routine and push it to the limit.
Yet, they make it look so easy!
More than 5.9 million watched their Samba dance at the 2014 Washington Open DanceSport Competition.
“I believe this might be my favorite one. Unbelievably, amazing, truly gifted talent. Just love to watch them!!!” one YouTuber wrote.
“Wow, they’re incredible! I can’t believe they just keep going and going with the same level of enthusiasm throughout, it’s so much endurance. They danced their hearts out. It’s so beautiful,” wrote another.
