As people get older, it becomes more and more difficult for them to be separated from those they love.
But unfortunately, this is what often happens. After all, kids get older, they get married, have kids of their own, and then move away. This can leave older people very lonely and missing those that they love most. But most of the time, they can’t do anything about it.
However, some older people get lucky when their kids and grandkids decide to live nearby. That’s just what happened to an elderly gentleman who lives in Florida. He was captured in a viral video that showed him touring what he thought was an open house. But before he knows it, he gets one of the biggest surprises of his life.
At the beginning of the video, all you can see is an empty kitchen, but you can hear voices and footsteps coming from another area of the house. It sounds as though people are touring the home. The cameraman (who is later revealed to be the grandpa’s son) is hiding in a room off of the kitchen. You can see him filming what’s happening in the reflection in a mirror.
Then, all of a sudden, a man and a woman walk into the kitchen.
At first, they are just looking around. But after a moment, they notice something strange. There are a ton of pictures laid out on the kitchen counter. At first, the man being filmed doesn’t recognize the pictures. Then, he asks, “What is this?” Finally, he realizes the pictures are of him and his family. He says, “These are our pictures!”
The man and the woman deliberate about how these pictures ended up on the counter. They finally decide that the Realtor must have done it to welcome them. While they still seem confused, they also seem to appreciate the gesture. Little do they know that it wasn’t a Realtor at all, but someone much closer to them than that.
They continue to look around for a while until they decide to go out to the patio to take a look at what is out there.
It is at this point that the viewer starts to get a better understanding of what is going on. All of a sudden, a little boy named Cole pops out of a room adjacent to the kitchen. He is holding something in his hand, and it later becomes clear that it is a present for his grandpa. His dad gestures to him that he should follow his grandfather outside, so he does.
The dad, who is still filming, follows the little boy.
Cole calls out to his grandpa, who recognizes him immediately. The grandpa is clearly surprised but also thrilled that he is getting to see his son and grandson. He starts crying almost immediately, and exclaims, “You guys are gonna give me a heart attack!”
But he doesn’t even realize what the big surprise is yet.
In the next breath, Cole asks him, “Do you want to see my room?” The grandpa is surprised, and he asks the father if they are planning on buying the house. To the grandfather’s amazement, the dad tells him that they have already purchased the house – it is officially theirs. While they had not been living in Florida in the past, he revealed that they would be moving there.
Everyone is clearly very happy, and Cole and his grandfather share another hug.
The two are thrilled that they will be living so close to each other from now on.
