While most people know Guy Fieri for his love of food and spiky blonde hair, the popular celebrity chef also has an enormous heart.

This past Thanksgiving, Fieri, alongside a group of other celebrity chefs, prepared 15,000 Thanksgiving meals for victims of the deadly California Camp Fire.

Fieri, Tyler Florence, and Jenn Louis teamed up with José Andrés’ organization World Central Kitchen to give the thousands of homeless victims a little Thanksgiving celebration.

“The least we can be doing today, on Thanksgiving, is all coming together to show the people what they deserve: love and support, one plate of food at a time,” said Andres in a Twitter video.

The chefs, along with 800-plus volunteers, started cooking at 4 am, preparing 7,000 pounds of turkey to feed the large crowd.

“When normalcy disappears, food keeps you connected with the humanity we aim for,” said Andrés.

However, this act of kindness is nothing new for Fieri.

Fieri has often shown up during recent California wildfires to feed victims and first respondents. Back in 2017, Fieri teamed up with the Salvation Army and Red Cross to help evacuees in Sonoma County where, according to Eater, he was serving 5,000 people a day. “I’m not promoting anything,” he told KQED. “I’m just here cooking.”

“This is feeding people. People need help, and I’m here to help. That’s it.”

This past July, he also helped feed victims of the Carr fire in Redding.

Once again teaming up with the Salvation Army, Fieri traveled from Napa Valley to Redding to BBQ for people displaced by the fires. In an interview with ABC7, he said: “It is unbelievable to see what folks are going through, but also how great this community is.”

“We are in tough times in the world, with all these things going on, and boy, you take a moment like this, and you really see what America’s made of— a lot of great people coming together.”

“I have probably got 20 volunteers, right now we are standing in a parking lot of Shasta College, and we have a makeshift kitchen set up with one of my trailers and a bunch of stoves. We just did lunch for 750, and we are getting ready to do dinner for that same group right now, trying to keep the menu interesting.”

According to NBC Bay Area, residents were treated to delicious plates of pork loin; mushroom gravy; a pineapple teriyaki sauce; braised cabbage with apple; onions and brussels sprouts; mashed potatoes and baked beans.

While Fieri has remained relatively quiet about his good deeds, others have been singing his praises.

On Twitter, the Butte County Sheriff wrote: “Guy Fieri made a surprise visit to serve dinner to everyone at the law enforcement staging area at Butte College.”

“Thank you so much Guy for filling our bellies and lifting our spirits.”

It’s so great to see people coming together during hard times.

During the Thanksgiving dinner, a woman displaced by the fires told Enterprise-Record that typical holiday stresses seem so petty after a disaster like this. Looking around the room with a smile, she said: “It just shows how unimportant that all is.”
