Online shopping has been a thing over the last few years and people turn to it more and more since it’s convenient. You don’t even have to go outside to buy your favorite items.
No more driving to lots of different places to find the best quality products, no more wasting time and energy! You can do everything just sitting on your couch.
That’s what a woman from Oklahoma City did a while back. She ordered an iPad case and some camera equipment, which cost about $40 from Amazon, and she couldn’t wait to enjoy the new products.
However, a porch thief thought it would be a good idea to do a little exchange.
So, she stopped by the house and took the Amazon package. But she thought it would be a pity to leave nothing behind, so she actually exchanged the package with a half-eaten burger.
The woman, who was captured on the surveillance camera of the house in question, can be seen walking to the front door, taking one package and leaving another one behind.
And, while the potential thief thought that she had successfully completed her task, she had no idea what was about to follow.
Only moments later, the homeowner can be seen rushing out of the house barefoot and in her pajamas, running towards the stranger’s direction.
The homeowner, a school counselor named Carla Ford, who at the time was just having a relaxing day at home, ran outside when she realized what had just happened.
She didn’t even waste time putting on her shoes, although it was one of the coldest days that winter.
Wearing only her pajamas, she ran on the freezing lawn, following the porch pirate, determined to confront her.
Indeed, Ford managed to get to the getaway car before the thief and her accomplice had left. She kept the passenger’s seat door open and managed to snatch her package back.
When leaving, she even gave the car a whack while returning home.
As the woman said, she knew the video of her chasing a porch thief in her PJs was funny, and she even warned the officers about how funny the video would be when she turned it in to the police department.
“I told the police officer, I said ‘Feel free to laugh, it’s funny!'” she told Inside Edition.
The video of the woman has gone viral with more than 4 million views. Hundreds of people have commented below it and praised the woman for her courage and determination.
“The way she snatched her package back,” someone wrote. “Good job lady!”
