Cop hilariously demonstrates what it would be like if officers talked like pilots
Every part of this is so funny. He totally nails it!

Have you ever been arrested? If not, have you ever ridden in a cop car?

It’s not a situation you’d ever want to find yourself in, obviously.

Especially not at the hands of a comedian cop…

Classic comedies like Airplane! have showcased flights as the perfect comedy setting.

Well today, Airplane! meets Police Academy.

This is the story of one cop that provides a rather unique experience for those unfortunate enough to ride in his back seats. (It’s of course just pretend though).

This isn’t your average boy in blue.

This particular cop happens to have a more… refined sense of humor than most.

Meet Mike. He’s a cop.

He’s simultaneously a no-nonsense policeman and a jokester.

You see, in a video with over 3.4 million views, he hilariously makes announcements in his car like a commercial pilot. That’s right. He uses his police technology to make announcements like a pilot.

Anyone with the “privilege” of riding with him might as well be flying coach straight to jail.

I mean, just look at this guy in the back. He’s obviously confused. And he looks like he wants to cry.

I don’t think the guy in the back really likes what he’s hearing. But Mike doesn’t hold back and it’s epic.

“Thank you for choosing our jurisdiction for an arrest. We know you had your choice of city.”

It all comes down to perception.

It’s funny to people watching the video… but it probably wouldn’t be funny from the backseat!

To the cop, it’s just some pilot jokes on the job.

To someone that’s about to see some jail time, it’s not so humorous.

Cop Mike puts on his best “pilot voice” yet again.

“This is your cop captain speaking. Hope you’re settling in okay and enjoying a reduced amount of legroom compared to your normal modes of travel.”

If that’s not cheeky, I don’t know what is!

It’s like Airplane! meets The Naked Gun. Leslie Nielsen would be proud.

Things can get a little stuffy on the job.

So Mike tries to lighten things up.

But his comedy’s audience – at least his live audience – sometimes don’t care for his act. That face says everything you need to know…

Mike’s done it numerous times. He’s practically perfected the voice.

Every now and then he’ll throw in commercial pilot lingo like “frequent flier” when addressing people with multiple arrests.

He puts the mic back up to his face, ready to dish some more.

Honestly, he could announce sports.

The face from the backseat says a lot.

That’s the face of someone that certainly does not want to be there.

Mike maintains his pilot persona to the chagrin of his passengers.

Is this considered to be cruel and unusual punishment?

Mike doesn’t mess around… unless he’s on the mic.

I imagine that hearing Mike’s smooth voice on the intercom might be a little offputting to someone who’s just been apprehended.

Mike doesn’t break character at all. I wonder if he’ll ever apply to flight school?

Well… at least these lawbreakers get a little taste of some comedy before being put behind bars. That’s better than nothing… right?
