Think back to a time when you were at your happiest. A time when you were so overflowing and overwhelmed with joy that the only thing could do is cry. It’s a pretty magical and special moment if you can experience that at some point in your life, don’t you think? For a 6-year-old named Adalynn, she felt that joy for the first time recently.
You never know how a child is going to react when you tell them they’ll no longer be an older child.
Telling a child they’ll soon have a little brother or sister can have very different reactions. Some kids are sad or angry that they’ll have to share the attention of their parents, while other kids are ecstatic to take on the big brother or sister role. Erin and Dale of Aiken, South Carolina, didn’t know what to expect from their daughter Adalynn about becoming a big sister – but they definitely didn’t expect this emotional reaction.
The couple knew that their 6-year-old daughter was excited to meet her little sister Madison, they just had no idea how incredibly emotional the moment would be for her.
The camera rolled as Adalynn walks into the hospital room for the first time – the video has since been viewed over 220,000 times.
Adalynn, or ‘Addy’ for short, slowly walks into her mom’s hospital room only moments after her baby sister Madison was born. You can already see Addy’s face beaming with excitement and anticipation. After all, she’s been waiting for this little bundle of joy for 9 months already!
As soon as Addy reaches her mom Erin’s bedside, she takes her first glimpse at the newborn baby in her arms. That’s when Addy becomes completely overwhelmed with emotion and it all comes surging out at once. You can see in her eyes that these are some very powerful feelings she’s experiencing!
Erin too became overwhelmed when she saw the effect Madison had on her older sister – it was such a powerful moment in that room that day.
Adalynn is just dying to hold her baby sister as you can tell in the video, but, of course, it’s a bit too soon for that. However, she Addy seems to be totally fine with at least being able to hold on to Madison’s hand for today.
Erin uploaded the video to Facebook and to no one’s surprise, it immediately went viral. She even left a comment with an updated photo of Addy finally being able to hold her new best buddy in the whole world.
It’s clear that these two sisters already have a strong and serious lifelong bond. If you have a sister – you know exactly what that is!
