There are all sorts of creepy crawlies that can take up residence in the hidden crawlspaces of your attic.
But sometimes you might find something living up there that makes wee little things spiders, rats, snakes, raccoons and termites look like cuddly roof pets.
That’s the exact nightmare scenario Davis Wahlman faced when he discovered that the source of the scraping sound coming from his attic was much larger than your average, run-of-the-mill critters.
It was enough to make his skin crawl forever!
It probably would have been a whole lot easier if Davis had found a bunch of poisonous black widows breeding thousands of bite-happy babies in the attic of his Green Lake, Washington home.
Unfortunately for him, he found himself faced with a sticky situation that couldn’t easily be fixed with a cloud of bug spray. Maybe that’s because his problem could actually talk back to him!
“I don’t immediately freak out but I’m like ‘This is not ordinary.'”
Davis was jolted out of bed one night after he heard some rustling sounds coming from the upper levels of his home, so he went to investigate.
But instead of finding a bat or a squirrel, or even your friendly neighborhood thief, he found that he had been locked out.
Yep, the door to his office had been locked from the inside. He could see that the lights were on, so he did what any normal person would do in such a crazy situation.
He knocked on the door to his own house!
Davis, who works for KOMO News, suddenly found himself in the most unbelievable news story of his career when a woman’s voice responded with, “Jimmy? Is that you, Jimmy?”
Of course he wasn’t Jimmy! But he was definitely calling 911 to report this strange encounter.
“I’m like ‘Who the heck are you?’ Why are you in my house? And she just keeps kind of going ‘This is my house. I live here. I’ve been here for three days. Jimmy said I could live here, Jimmy said I could stay here.'”
When the woman finally opened the door, he found himself facing a total stranger. He had no idea who she was, but suspected she got into the house through the bathroom.
Earlier he found the screen from the window lying in the bathtub, but he didn’t give it too much thought.
It would have been difficult for a person to crawl in that way without help from someone else lifting them up.
Nothing had been stolen, but there were a few items that were amiss, like a fire escape ladder that Davis suspected the woman found in the house.
Unfortunately, the strange woman got away before the police arrived. but, before she took off, she kept ranting about Jimmy and how she had already been living in the attic for three days.
“It’s just weird, you know?”
Everyone’s out there catching Pokemon, meanwhile, I’m catching weird ladies in my attic. 😑 #komonews

Davis didn’t want to take any chances, and had a locksmith swing by to change all the locks on the door. The Walhman family has been living in that home for 90 years, and neither this woman nor her imaginary friend Jimmy were welcome.
“To come into a house like this, in this neighborhood, that’s clearly being lived in that’s bold.”
