The last couple of weeks have been some of the tensest in recent years, due to the protests and circle of violence around the country between black and white people. And, yet, it seems not everything is lost.

In the wake of George Floyd’s death, there has been tension between the police and citizens who protest against police violence and against racism. Although there is lots of darkness in the world today, there seems to be some positivity still and faith in humanity is restored on a daily basis through small acts of kindness.

Just like there were police officers who asked to join black protesters, just like a white cop took some time while on duty, the other day, to have a chat with a black couple letting them know that the majority of officers has got their back and wants them to feel heard and valued, a man became the hero of the day for a black lady and her mom.

On June 1, a man named Tim Borel of Louisiana was just going his way when he saw two women who had pulled over their car and looked like they could use some help.

Without giving it a second thought, he pulled over too and approached them to ask what was going on. It appeared that they had a flat tire and, although they did have a spare one, they didn’t have the tools to replace it. The most heartbreaking part of their story, however, was that they had been standing there asking for help for more than half an hour, but nobody seemed to care.

“Found this delightful young lady and her mom stranded on I-10 outside of BR today due to a flat tire. They told me no one would stop to assist them for over 30 minutes,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

The man added that the ladies almost broke down in tears when he offered to help them. Apparently, this broke his heart and made him feel awful for what the two women had gone through.

Borel, through this post, took the opportunity to share some positive vibes with his online friends, making sure that he made his point clear. As he explained, everyone has their dark and hard times, but this should not define us as people. He highlighted the need to support and help each other no matter where we come from or what we look like.

“People, please put away the fears and the hate and love each other as you would want them to love you,” he added.

And he went on to call all fellow Americans to show how strong they are at heart, and how they can be the best version of themselves by helping and supporting those who need their help.

“We got this America. All it takes is love and understanding to be the catalyst for much needed change. Love y’all,” he concluded.

Borel’s post soon went viral, with more than 5k reactions and more than 7k shares already. People praised him for being a positive influence in times when this is much needed like today.

Indeed, humans like Borel make the world look a little less ugly and gives us hope that things can and will change for the better!
