We often have something ideal planned for ourselves.

But life isn’t always as expected.

Nobody wants life’s unwanted surprises, so we do as much as possible to plan for the things about to happen. But of course, that’s the ideal scenario, not necessarily the real one.

Reality can hit us on the head.

There are times that life takes a sudden turn and we’re not prepared for it. Others are strong enough to power through, while others crumble.

Amanda’s life was all about that.

She thought it was the perfect year for them. She and her husband tried to have a baby for three years until they finally conceived one.

They also spent the past two years renovating their house, where they poured in all their savings.

Everything was going as planned.

Then her husband left her.

According to Amanda, it was the shock of that moment that struck her most.

“The biggest thing is just the shock, I guess. Coz it’s really not what we planned, or what I planned.”

This left Amanda’s life in shambles.

She didn’t know what to do. She didn’t want to give up their house because they’d spent so much for it, but she couldn’t afford the mortgage now.

Then, there’s the baby.

Luckily, she had a trusted friend in Anna.

Her best friend was there as her emotional support as she went through a tough time.

However, Anna thought that would never be enough because reality is, Amanda would need more than that.

Anna decided to call it in.

Anna reached out to a local radio station and sought help.

KIIS 1065 has a segment called ‘Giveback’ where they help others who needs a hand to stand again.

Upon knowing of Amanda’s situation, the show had the perfect surprise for her.

They invited both on the show.

Amanda had no idea she was there for their Giveback segment.

They asked her a few questions and a quick run-through of her story. Then, one of the hosts, Jackie, told her to turn her attention to the screen behind her.

She was shocked to see the outside of her home.

A house of many surprises.

As the show’s cameraman started to get into her home, they revealed their surprise one by one.

First, a vacuum cleaner.

This represented the cleaning company that pledged to clean her house for six months.

Food for days.

Then, the fridge was packed with food from a meal company that pledged to provide her with food for the next three months.

Right at the kitchen counter were $4,000 worth of baby supplies plus a $1,000 gift certificate for a baby photoshoot.

But the surprise didn’t end there. Next stop was the oven. What could be inside it?

Home is where the heart is.

To her surprise, they gave her $10,000 cash to pay for her mortgage.

With all these arranged for her, she has less to worry about and can focus more on her pregnancy. She also doesn’t have to give up the house.

Just when she thought that her life was a total wreck, good people showed her that she just has to have a little faith.
