A woman’s quick thinking saved her from captivity after she was able to scrawl”call 911″ on a package that was picked by a UPS driver.

The driver then alerted the police who rescued the woman who was sexually assaulted and held captive in her own home.

Thankfully there was a scheduled UPS pick up that day at the Robertsville, Missouri home. The wife of a 33-year-old male who was taken into custody said that her husband prevented her from leaving the house or using her phone.

The suspect is accused of making her strip before sexually assaulting her. He then held a gun to her head and threatened to kill them both.

When the driver arrived the assailant allegedly forced his wife to talk to the driver while he was standing behind her with a gun.

It’s unknown how she managed to write her S.O.S. message without being detected.

The driver called the authorities who sent a SWAT team to the house. They were able to peacefully arrest the 33-year-old man without incident.

“He was a huge help,” Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. T.J. Wild told a CNN affiliate of the UPS driver.

The victim told police that the perpetrator had a pistol and access to long rifles.

The woman’s 3-year-old child was in the home during the violent ordeal. The child was locked in a bedroom without food or water for 15-hours.

“We are grateful this UPS driver with more than a decade of service followed protocol when he saw a customer in distress and contacted authorities after he saw her message to contact 9-1-1,” UPS said in a statement, according to CNN. “Our drivers are very familiar with their routes, and are trained to be aware of their surroundings and respond to requests for assistance.”

The suspect was charged with domestic assault, sodomy without consent, felonious restraint, unlawful use of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was held on $100,000 bail.

Neighbors told KMOV that they were shocked to hear what happened in their neighborhood.

“Well it’s horrible, it scares me because if he’d do that to his wife, what would he do to other neighbors,” Endalene Young said.
