Teen Held Stop Sign In 90-Degree Heat For Selfless Reason
It's wonderful to know that there are teens like him out in the world.

It’s not often that people get caught doing the right thing. Most of the time, we see photos and videos of people doing things they shouldn’t. Social media loves to criticize people for doing things that are wrong, but one man recently took a photo of a boy holding a stop sign – and for good reason. Randy Jones said:

“I was like ‘What in the world is this kid doing?'”

He talked to the boy to figure out why he was holding the stop sign. When he found out the reason, Jones was shocked.

He shared the photo and the story on his Facebook page. The post said:

“So today I met a young man named Logan. I believe he said he worked at the Chedders in Yukon. I was over at S.W29th and Sara Road marking some warning signs for the new turnpike job. Logan said he was driving on Southwest 29th when he had noticed the stop sign had been run over and he almost witnessed a bad accident. So, on his lunch break, he decided to hold up the stop sign for quite some time so there wouldn’t be another possible bad accident. I was able to get a hold of the City of Oklahoma City and they sent out a truck and repaired it. He was standing out in 95° weather with no water and did it for free.”

This young man went out of his way to make sure nobody was hurt and was even willing to spend his lunch break holding a sign simply because it was the right thing to do.

Jones added:

“Not a lot of people would do what he did. To have the awareness to know to get out and help, it’s pretty cool.”

Jones made the post hoping that people would be inspired by the young man’s actions and to prove that there are good kids out there.

He never expected it to get so many views and shares. The post eventually went viral, and many people pointed out that they knew the young man. Other people commented on the photo with kinds words.

After reading all the kind comments, Jones himself commented on the photo, saying:

“Hopefully this gets back to this young man, you did a good job and I’m sure the citizens of Oklahoma City appreciate it as well.”

The post did make it back to the young man’s family.

His sister read it and posted a comment. She said:

“Hey everyone Logan Duncan is here with me. (He’s my little brother) He says THANK YOU for all your sweet comments! He does not have a FB account of his own but wants you all to know he appreciates you reaching out! He really is a humble and outstanding young man.”

The community wanted to give back to the young man for doing the right thing.

His sister created a GoFundMe page where people can donate to show their appreciation. The page says:

“We are raising money to help Logan Duncan pay off his car note. So many people have expressed their gratitude for his Good Samaritan deed of helping the community of Yukon/OKC by holding up a stop sign at a busy intersection so drivers did not get into any accidents until the city could come repair the sign. This is a way you can give back if you choose to. The hard work he does is barely enough for him to get by and pay his bills and life would be easier if he didn’t have to make a monthly car payment and could save up some money for when he graduates high school to seek his fortune in this big wide world. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much for your caring and the gratitude you have expressed for his help in the community.”

Hopefully, he gets some help. He definitely deserves it.

Although Duncan didn’t expect anything in return when he decided to hold the stop sign, helping him pay off his car is a great way for the community to show how much they appreciate everything he did for them.
