So it was only a matter of time before he knew he was going to propose to her. Of course, it would have to be over-the-top, creative, and most of all, a surprise.

Tyler and his girlfriend are no strangers to the camera. They’ve uploaded dozens of videos on Tyler’s YouTube channel doing everything from carpool karaoke battles to talks about random thoughts on life. They have a loyal 57,000 person following!

The couple met like most couples do these days – on a dating app. In their case, it was Bumble.

In an interview with How He Asked, Tyler explained, “I wasn’t looking to settle down or even find a girlfriend, but rather simply go on a date and find someone that challenged me. Someone that I could connect with. Someone to verbally spar with. Someone funnier than I think I am. Someone that knew who they were as a person, but still looking to grow. But most importantly, someone that was just easy to hang with.”

We all have “checklists” for traits we’d like to see in significant others, but Tyler also knew that doing that was unrealistic and unfair. But when EB sent her first message, Tyler knew she was special.

“After reading that list of qualifications for a date, it even now feels like a pretty tall order. It was such subjective criteria I had come to terms with the “fact” that I was never going to find someone that truly FIT, but rather settling for someone. With only a witty intro line, “I trust you implicitly internet stranger. What should I give you first – blood type? Address? Social Security Number?” I was able to tell that EB was different. IT’S NUTS,” he continued.

To disguise his impending proposal, Tyler told EB he wanted to do an impromptu carpool karaoke battle – something they had done time and time before.

What EB didn’t know was that her boyfriend had an elaborate, adorable, and romantic plan to propose to her that day. Even better was that he enlisted the help of her family who lives out of state.

When Tyler uploaded the carpool-karaoke-battle-turned-proposal video on YouTube, he included the caption:

“This week I surprised my girlfriend EB with an “impromptu” Carpool Karaoke battle. What she didn’t know was that I had enlisted the help of her brother (who flew in from Tennessee) and parents (who flew in from Texas) to help me propose to her. Had a lot of fun making this video and asking the girl of my dreams to be my wife.”

The adorable 9-minute video starts with a hip-hop carpool karaoke battle before EB’s brother makes a surprise visit to join them. So far, she just thinks it’s a sweet family surprise and the tears start flowing.

Then…the family love continues as EB’s parents soon hop in the car, bringing EB to even more tears.

Sadly, the camera cuts out when the actual proposal happens, but Tyler edits in a hilarious re-enactment with his friend in a wig. We know, we know, it’s not the same at all, but we realize technical difficulties happen and you just gotta do what you gotta do.

Regardless, the end result of this viral video that has been viewed over 3 million times is heartwarming and oh-so-sweet.
