We could all learn something from this man's story.

Unfortunately, a lot of bikers get a bad rap. They’re often judged simply because they enjoy riding motorcycles, wear leather gear, and often, have either long hair or beards. What a shame considering that most bikers are awesome people who work hard and love their families.

One man’s story

For a guy named Luc Perreault, a day of testing his mother’s motorbike would turn into something he never expected. Even as a biker, this shocked him. He used the experience to educate others.

A quick stop

On this day, Luc stopped by a Tim Horton’s restaurant in Ontario, Canada. As he pulled up on the motorbike, he noticed a little girl. At first, he didn’t think much of it.

He looks intimidating

Now, Luc is a large guy. His physical appearance combined with being a biker who drinks beer, has tattoos, and sports both a mustache and beard, you’d think kids would be afraid of him. But that’s not the case.

Super friendly

After all, Luc is friendly. People within his inner circle often call him a big teddy bear. Despite the fact that Luc’s a softie at heart, he’s just like everyone else. He has insecurities and faces challenges in life.

Never one to judge

Those insecurities and obstacles are why Luc never judges someone by their appearance. He knows everyone struggles with something. So, who is he to form an opinion about a stranger? Sadly, some people don’t share his principles.

Brief encounter

After waving at Luc, this little girl walked over to him to say “hi.” As someone with a big heart who loves kids, he responded with “hello.” Most parents would see this as the innocent encounter it was but not this child’s mom.

The unexpected

As soon as the mother saw her daughter and Luc exchange hellos, she grabbed hold of her while pulling her away. That was bad enough but it was the words this mom spoke that bothered Luc the most.

Dirty bikers

While walking away, Luc overheard this mom tell her daughter she wasn’t allowed to talk to “dirty bikers.” Since this guy never judges others, that comment stung. This woman didn’t even know him. Yet based on his appearance alone, she’d had a strong opinion.

Sending a message

Using his Facebook page as a platform, Luc wrote a powerful message. “To the family in the red SUV at Tim Horton’s today, yes, I am a big 280-lb guy with motorcycles and full of tattoos. I am a welder, I am loud, I drink beer, I swear, and I look like I would eat your soul if you stare at me wrong.”

More to say

He shared that he and his wife have been happily married for 11 years, he’s a dad, and he graduated from college. His mom is proud of him, he loves his nieces and nephews, and he always tries to help people. He even cried while watching Armageddon.

Summing it up

Luc finished his poetic justice by saying, “This “dirty biker” would be the first person to run into your burning house to save your little girl’s goldfish so she wouldn’t be sad.” [sic] That’s the kind of person he is.
