For most adults, the older they get the less important their birthdays become. But as far as children go, it’s a different story. They start counting down the days the minute one birthday ends until the next one. Not only do they look forward to having a party with all their friends but of course, also receiving presents.

A special boy named Bryan

Just like any young boy, Bryan was super excited about his upcoming birthday party. After all, he was turning seven, which at that age, is a big deal. For this event, his mom wanted everything to be perfect.

A great party

Bryan’s mom invited his friends, served a Batman cake for his theme party, and did everything possible to make her son’s day special. In his mind, this birthday was the best he’d ever had. But then something bad happened.

Stolen bike

That’s right, Bryan’s bike was stolen. As you can imagine, this little boy’s heart was broken. Who would do that and why would they do it? After all, he’s just a boy. In frustration, his mom posted about the incident on her Facebook page.

Sharp eyes

But unbeknownst to Bryan’s mom, someone from the Conway Police Department saw her post. They learned that the bike was stolen while this boy and his sister went to Wal-Mart. Well, there was no way the officers were going to just stand back and do nothing.

They devised a plan

With everyone from the police department pitching in, they bought Bryan a new bike. But their generosity didn’t stop there. They wanted to present it to him in person. Their goal was twofold…to give back what someone stole and to show this boy and others that the Conway Police Department cares about the community.

Captured on video

With a video recording, several officers, including Detective Gray, showed up at Bryan’s house. When he realized why they were there, he burst into tears. As his mom, Carmen A. Campbell stated, “My baby was still trying to smile while crying.” Every person there was touched.

Bringing in reinforcement

Yes, the new bike and presentation were great but this police department wasn’t done. With them, they brought Jay Runyon, a popular DJ from 107.1, a SpaceWalk bounce house, and other goodies. If Bryan thought his first party was fun, things just got a lot more exciting.

So grateful

Carmen, along with Bryan, were so grateful for everything that strangers did. On her Facebook page, she wrote, “Thank you all once again for making his day.” She then went on to thank each individual person and organization involved. She finished by saying, “You guys are great!!”

Posting from the police department

Along with Carmen’s post, the police department put out their own statement. It said, “So many people heard about this and wanted to help him out. Today your Conway Police Department presented Bryan with a new bike and some safety gear. Happy 7th birthday Bryan.”

And a parade?

That’s right. Bryan’s party also included a parade. This boy received the full experience. Without question, this was a day he’ll never forget. As long as he lives, his seventh birthday will be his favorite. It’s also a day his mom will always remember thanks to an outpouring of love.

A good reminder

Especially during these difficult times when so many people are turning against law enforcement, it’s important to understand that officers are humans like everyone else. Many of them are parents and so they feel the pain of others. In this case, they turned a bad situation into something spectacular.
