Massages. When it comes to relaxing this is one way most people love to unwind and relax. These days, spas and licenced therapists can be found everywhere unless you have four legs, a tail and are confined to the backyard.
So what’s a dog to do when a massage is what the doctor ordered? How about slink outside and slide right up to the wooden fence and wait for a neighboring dog to pop into view?

Even the American Kennel Club believes that massage can reduce stress and anxiety, increase circulation, decrease pain and strengthen the bond between an owner and a dog.
It takes a bit of technique, but an owner can learn how to do it!
Doggie Massages
Dog massage when carried out by an owner can reduce anxiety, increase circulation to alleviate the pain caused by arthritis, serve as a pre-activity warmup and post-activity cool down.
Some dogs may be quite leery of receiving a massage from their owner. But others relish the connection.

Beau, an 8-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier, knows what she wants.
And what she wants is a massage from her best buddy Rocco who lives next door, explained her mom Kayleigh Burrowes.
“She is so hyper all the time and loves snuggles. [She’s] super friendly with all the neighbor’s dogs, but has a soft spot for Rocco.”
A friendship is born
Beau and Rocco first met when she was a mere pup and even though Beau was and still is considerably bigger, they quickly became fast friends.
The size difference didn’t matter to the two of them, especially since Beau was filling a void for Rocco.
Kayleigh had owned another dog named Jak, but he had passed away in his golden years. Rocco was quite forlorn without his buddy.

So when Rocco laid eyes on Beau through the slits in the fence, he was thrilled to have another buddy. It also helped that Beau is a crazy happy and affectionate dog.
“She met him as soon as she was allowed outside and they automatically clicked. [Rocco] really missed Jak as they were really close so Beaù made it easier.”

Back massage buddies
But Kayleigh didn’t realize just how good of friends the two dogs had become until she caught Rocco giving Beaù a secret back rub through the fence! She could not believe what she was seeing and had to investigate further.
“One day, I was sitting on my sofa then I looked out the patio door and Rocco was massaging Beau. I thought I was seeing things for a second, but now they won’t stop.”
The massage sessions are definitely one sided. Poor Rocco!
But Beau does thank him when he was done in her own special way. It’s very cute!
“When he stops, she paws at him to do it back.”
Kayleigh said if she left Beau outdoors all day, they would sit beside each other at the fence for hours.
“They are best friends — little and large.”
Staffordshire bull terriers are known for their brazen boldness and also for their playful, happy-go-lucky demeanor. Strong and stocky, Staffordshire bull terriers have a historical past peppered with scuffles, but nowadays are adopted into families because of their loving attitude.
It seems Beau is quite the character and this pair of friends won’t even let a fence come between them.
