When adults fall in love, they think, that’s it, that’s what love feels like. But after they have children, they realize there’s a lot more to love. Then when grandkids come along, it’s like discovering an entirely new dimension, one they had no idea existed.

Special bond

There’s no question that grandparents and grandchildren share a special bond. Kids love spending time with them, learning, playing, and getting lots of hugs and kisses. And usually, kids have the same amount of love for both their nana and papa although it’s unique to each.

A loving relationship

That’s how it was for one set of grandparents and their granddaughter. The toddler, named Emma, is always super excited to visit her nana and papa’s house. Having been there many times before, she knows while there, she’s going to have a blast.

Benefits of a Ring camera

You might ask what a Ring doorbell camera has to do with Emma going to her grandparents’ house. Well, it has a lot to do with it. At least on one particular day when something hilarious happened.

Waiting in anticipation

Emma wasn’t the only person excited. Her nana was too. She patiently waited for her granddaughter to get there so she could give her a big hug.

She’s here

After getting a notification from her Ring doorbell camera, this nana headed to the front door. As she opened the screen, she saw Emma and her mom walking toward them. She was now only seconds away from hugging the little girl tightly.

Children are so unpredictable

Especially around the age of two to three, you never know what toddlers are going to do. On this particular visit, everyone would learn that little Emma had a mind of her own. And she wasn’t afraid to use it.

Getting into position

Squatting down to get on Emma’s level, the grandmother stretched her arms wide in anticipation of scooping her up. The little girl was running toward her just as fast as her little feet could go.

The unexpected

But just as the toddler was within a foot of her nana, she did the funniest thing. You see, standing behind this grandma was Emma’s papa. Suddenly and with precision movement, the girl bolted around her grandma, going to her grandpa instead.

That hurt

While this grandma wasn’t upset, you could see a little bit of hurt in her eyes. She thought Emma was coming to her but no, this little girl had a different plan. You can’t help but feel bad for this nana.

Taking it in stride

As the grandma turns around to head inside the house, she and Emma’s mom are laughing. Fortunately, she understands how grandkids work and how they always do the unexpected. Even though she was ignored, we’re sure she and Emma created a lot of great memories that day.
