Whenever we’re in trouble, we want to believe that there will always be someone around to help us.

It can be your family, your friends, your kind neighbor, or a complete stranger.

In this woman’s case, a local police officer stopped to help her with her predicament.

Officer Cody Alloway was patrolling the area of 67th Avenue and Bethany Home Road in Glendale, Arizona when he saw a woman in a wheelchair trying to cross the street.

She was already on the street when her wheelchair got stuck.

There was another gentleman who ran to help her but Officer Cody gestured to him that he can take care of her. And he pushed her to the other side of the road safely.

“I asked her how her day was going and see where she was heading, and so she told me that she was waiting for her granddaughter. Hopefully to get across the street and do some grocery shopping,” Officer Alloway said.

Unbeknownst to Officer Alloway, there was a person in a car across from them who caught his good deed and started filming.

They submitted the footage to FOX 10, who reported this good deed. They were able to get footage from the traffic cameras as well to verify the footage taken.

“I was shocked. I had absolutely no idea that I was going to be on camera, and that it was going to be a thing,” Officer Alloway admitted.

As it turns out, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Just a week ago, his father, Glendale Police Department Officer Jeff Alloway, threw a birthday surprise for a young boy, who donated all of his presents to a Christmas angel tree. It looks like good deeds run in their genes.

“Definitely a good example of what I want to be and who I should be, and everyday, it’s just something I can see him being that person for me,” Officer Alloway stated.

Of course, FOX 10 viewers could not help but praise Officer Cody’s selfless act.

My kind of police officer!!! Things like this [are] what WE want from law enforcement,” Sid Viciousness said.

“More cops need to do stuff like this to improve relations with the people so that all this toxic “anti-cop” culture can be stopped. And news channels need to report more good stories too, it’s always just about homicides, it gets tiring,” Evil Pimp added.

“It is good to see that police officers also help and aid people. This helped to restore some of my faith in police officers,” Jeffrey Calhoun shared.

And despite all this praise, Officer Cody Alloway remains humbled and grateful.

“You work with men and women who do little things like this, these acts of kindness that go so unnoticed. They do these things all the time without looking for any recognition, and so I’m just very thankful that I get to be a part of that,” Officer Alloway explained.
