Prom is undeniably one of the most memorable parts of high school.

We all go back to this day and reminisce on who we were with and how the night went on. For high school students, prom night is not just any other school event. And one of the most unforgettable parts of this would be asking another person as your prom date.

This night may have happened years ago for some people, but it is something that you will cherish and probably a core memory that you would also share with your children.

Unfortunately, not all people had the chance to enjoy this night.

Josephine Ganczewski was supposed to attend prom way back in 1961, but she never had the opportunity to be there. And now, after more than 5 decades, she is finally attending one, and that’s all because of her grandson.

High school senior Michael Ganczewski is about to attend his prom night, but he had no date to take with him yet. When the 18-year-old found out about his grandmother not being able to attend prom even once in her life, Michael had the best idea in mind.

Michael decided to invite his grandma to prom.

With only two weeks before prom and no date, Michael decided to make this prom memorable, not only for him but for his Nana as well. He realized that his grandmother does not have to wonder about prom anymore because he can give that gift to her.

Michael invited his Nana to prom, but to his surprise, she declined. She was hesitant because she was thinking that her grandson can have girls to be his prom date.

The young man looked stunning and girls would surely line up to be his date. However, Michael was insistent about inviting his beloved Nana to the prom. But, she eventually changed his mind and thought that it was the best way to enjoy the Mother’s Day weekend.

Josephine agreed to go to the prom, prepared to wear a lovely gown, and even got a corsage.

She donned a beautiful gown while Michale was dashing in his suit. They were a lovely and happy pair who went to enjoy the prom night held at the Vineyards in Simi Valley.

It was all such a great experience for Josephine who may have missed her prom more than five decades ago but definitely is having a blast on her prom night with Michael. The highlight of it all? She was even elected Prom Queen!

Michael shares that Josephine is the most influential woman in his life.

Without Josephine, Michael and his mom will not be around. He shared further that he will do anything he can for her.

Josephine, on the other hand, appreciates her grandson’s kind and sweet gesture very much. She knows that this night is memorable and for him to give her a chance to attend prom is definitely a gift she is very grateful for.
