Sharon has always liked the RV life, but when she was working as a pharmacist and had to go to work every day, she didn’t have the chance to realize her dream. She used to live in nice houses or condos, but she always felt that she was failing the “gypsy” part of her.

“I really am a gypsy at heart,” she told CheapRVliving.

So, when she retired she decided to start working on turning her dream into reality. While she lives off social security and some savings she managed to gather over the years, she knew an RV would be worth the investment.

Given that she lives by herself, that she’s not too tall, and that she wants to move around with her trailer, the best option for her was to buy a small teardrop trailer that would be easily towed by her Jeep and would not cost her a fortune.

After thorough market research, she found the best trailer that ticked every bullet point in her wish list.

Eventually, she bought a 2015 T@B M@x S model teardrop trailer that she hauls with a 4-door Jeep Wrangler. It cost her $15,000 plus taxes, and she has never regretted her choice.

The trailer is super light- it weighs less than 1700 pounds dry- and it is easily hauled by her Jeep. As she confesses, she sometimes even wonders if it’s still there.

“It’s like it’s not there,” she says. “Sometimes I look in the mirror and go ‘Oh, you’re still there.’”

Sharon’s little portable home is tiny but practical and cozy. It has a lot of light coming in from the three windows, and it offers features that make her life a whole lot easier.

The kitchen has a fridge that runs on propane, plug-in electricity or battery, a two-burner stove, and a sink. Although you can perfectly cook in there, Sharon often prefers to cook outside, especially when she cooks something smelly like onions.

The trailer also offers a toilet with shower. It is probably the tiniest shower you’ve ever seen in your life, and a tall person would literally need to sit on the toilet in order to have a shower, but for Sharon this is not a problem!

As for entertainment?

There is a CD/DVD player and radio, while there is also a flat-screen TV where she can watch movies or TV. There is adequate seating space to have company over, but Sharon prefers to keep one of the sofas folded over as a bed most of the time.

The trailer also comes with an air-conditioner, which can be used with she’s plugged into electricity.

All of these features make this small trailer ideal for the middle-aged woman, and she couldn’t be happier in it. Of course, at first it was not easy to adjust to this new way of life, but after a couple of weeks, she realized it worked perfectly for her and addressed all of her needs.

As for the best part of RV living?

Sharon explains that what she cherishes the most in this lifestyle is that you meet people and make new friends.

“Out on the road I have met so many fantastic people,” she says.

As far as we can see, Sharon has found the kind of life that suits her and she looks very happy with it.

You can watch her talk about it and have a little tour of the small trailer in the video below.
